"I think of photographs as gifts that I was good enough to recognize and to capture. They are rare events, these organizations of form depicting archetype, irony and humour. For too many years I was content just to collect them.
The process of presenting them to the public - the kill, has been every bit as instructive as was the chase. I endured hours printing my sometimes less-than-ideally-exposed negatives, and showed them to a variety of reactions at the galleries, demi mondes and coffee shops of Richmond, Savannah and Atlanta. Through it all I've learned many truths about both myself and the world."
